Global Health Fellows
Pfizer’s Global Health Fellows Program (GHF) is an international corporate volunteer program that places Pfizer colleagues in three to six month assignments with international development organizations designed to address global health issues and improve care for underserved populations.
Infectious Diseases Institute
Pfizer, Accordia Global Health Foundation, Makerere University, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation and other organizations partnered to establish the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) in Uganda in 2004. The IDI, a major medical training and research center headquartered within Uganda’s Makerere University, aims to improve health in Africa by training medical professionals and providing them with skills and resources to use in their communities.
ConnectHIV
ConnectHIV is the Pfizer Foundation’s initiative to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS in the U.S. by providing $7.5 million in grants, technical assistance and networking resources over three years (2007-2009) to AIDS Service Organizations (ASOs) in the ten states with the highest number of new AIDS cases nationwide. ASOs that receive support take a comprehensive approach to HIV prevention and treatment among people with HIV/AIDS and high-risk populations.
International Trachoma Initiative
Pfizer is working to help end the suffering and the cycle of poverty caused by this debilitating disease by partnering with the WHO's Alliance for the Global Elimination of Blinding Trachoma by the year 2020 (GET2020) and the International Trachoma Initiative.
Environmental Sustainability
Pfizer is on a green journey, embracing a sustainable tomorrow. We're developing a more integrated and strategic approach to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) practices and programs, using our substantial global reach to effect improvements in the areas of climate change, product stewardship and access to potable water.
Mobilize Against Malaria
Mobilize Against Malaria (MAM) is Pfizer's signature philanthropic program to combat malaria. MAM is a five-year (2007–2011), $15M initiative announced at the Clinton Global Initiative in 2006, designed to address critical gaps in malaria treatment and education in Ghana, Senegal and Kenya.
